a theme

Lately, when I think of this blog, I envision a tumbleweed rolling across a dusty desert road, wind whistling, miniature tornadoes of sand and debris ... nothing for miles. In other words, I haven't written anything of any consequence in here for a long, long time and this space feels very neglected. Part broken habit, part being busy, part not feeling much like sharing in this venue, and part not wanting to be anything other then genuine here. The result has been a long dry spell of writing.

I opened up my web analytic tool today, surprised to see that a number of people still visit, regardless of the lacking content. And I was really surprised at where they are visiting from! That's the coolest part of online publishing, seeing patterns of visitors from far-flung places that I have only imagined going to.

Then there's other patterns. I also noted a new theme in the search terms people enter resulting in finding this blog. Aside from the normal 'delicate balance blog' search terms, and the 'pook toque' terms (man, you write ONE post about those hats, 2 years ago, and still!), how are people ending up here? Search terms like:

'are libras overthinkers?'
'overthinking'
'examples of good overthinking'
'balanced overthinking'
'libra overthinking'

Yikes. Let's just call THAT a lesson learned for the day.

yay, something new!!!! People you don't know end up on your blog. kinda creepy. Overthinking has got to be better than underthinking. Go libra, go!

I always thought that when I come and check you out, that I am doing so anonymously. VW is creeped out that other people are reading your blog, I am freaked out that people know that I am reading theirs. Yikes. Hope you are well! xoxo

Dont panic, Mar - its not like it says "Marla's here AGAIN" ... hahahahha. No no, its very anonymous - will say the server name like Rogers, Bell, or whatever ... and you can search by location (city, state/prov, country that the server resides in). So I can see Burnaby, Ontario, London - etc. Don't stay away because you're weirded out - I hadn't noticed anything that called you out as a visitor, even! I pay most attention to the number of hits overall, search terms, and city/country. Love my readers in India and Indonesia! :) WTF!?
