not the start i hoped for

So far, 2012 isn't what I'd planned. I blame fate, and the fact I subscribed to resolutions this year.

Good intentions at the beginning ... booked a trip to Belize, started working out again, moved to a 4 day work week, began volunteering ... said 'YES' to the adventure of taking off one snowy Friday to strap on a snowboard and sink deliciously into the first bit of powder I've had in forever.

Things were looking up, on track.

Third run of the day ended in a broken leg, insane amounts of pain in a toboggan down the hill, and 2 hospitals, 4 hours in 2 ambulances, and several hundred dollars of transportation fees during the remainder of the day. Surgery and a few more days in hospital rounded out the event.

2.5 weeks later, I'm back at work, sort of able to do a little on my own, and incredibly reliant on everyone else for everything else. Pretty much my worst nightmare. Flip side? I'm learning lots and so lucky to have the support system I do!

Trying to remain positive is tough. I'm lonely, not for lack of people and contact, just because nobody's dealing with this but me. It's not the end of the world, its just a broken leg, but I must admit to being incredibly frustrated..

And those resolutions?

Travel and Adventure: Yeah, trip canceled, adventure on the back burner.
Write: Not much in the mood, to be honest, but that'll change.
Connect: silver lining, I suppose. This is one I kinda was forced into - score one for me!
Health: mmm-hmmm, let's pass on this one.
Family: Another silver lining, been in good touch!
Happy: Not so much. Not just yet.

It'll be okay, I know that. I'm whining, I know that too. This just bites today.
